Dr. Mark Wilson grew up in Portland and after high school, entered the United States Army, where he was stationed in southern Germany. When he returned to Portland, he attended Portland State University, majoring in General Science. After graduating from Oregon Health Sciences University, he and his wife, Dr. Elisabeth Kierkegaarde, established Burlingame Dental Arts and have been practicing together since 1986.

Dr. Wilson is an avid photographer and many of his photographs are on display in the office and on the website. His other hobbies include creating glass art, travel and bike racing.

Dr. Wilson and Dr. Kierkegaarde celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary in 2005.
